From the Board Chair

The HFTC Board considers it a great honor to be called to partner with God in what he is doing in the Congo. As we watch Him move and provide where we see no way, we are reminded of His great power as the one who sees, the one who hears, the one who provides, the one who sustains, the one who gives hope.

Amidst the continued unrest, war and danger for the people of eastern DRC, trauma, fear and displacement seem to be the only constants. Fifty-six miles to the north of Bunia, militant CODECO and the Ugandan army are fighting with many casualties. Fataki is at the epicenter, where the Catholic hospital is now closed. The main transportation route for food, fuel and supplies from Uganda goes through Fataki and is now blocked.

And yet our God sees. We rejoice that God has brought the Ugandan military to protect and bring peace. We praise God for the workers in the field who come alongside the traumatized to counsel and offer hope by giving physical and spiritual support. We bow in awe that God stirred your hearts to enable HFTC to send funds for food, medicine and clothing for the displaced. We thank God that he has given us a window into the suffering of his people so that we can be mobilized for focused prayer and provide an avenue for monetary aid.

HFTC Board is focused on raising awareness for a region that has very little press coverage. God’s provision through your generous prayerful and financial support enable us to be co-workers in God’s service.

1 Cor 3:7-9 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow .  .  . For we are co-workers in God’s service.
