Displaced, Destitute & Discouraged

3/10/2025 - Confusion and conflict abound in eastern DRC. Displaced persons are fleeing the invasion of M23 rebels from Rwanda in the south who have taken possession of two major cities, both transportation and supply hubs. CODECO fighters in the north, very near Bunia and the Peace Center, remain uncontrolled by Ugandan and DRC armies. The Peace center has continued to be a source of safety and encouragement. The needs are great for the continued influx of 15,000 displaced persons to the three Bunia IDP camps. 1,000 have come to the Peace Center seeking food, supplies and shelter.
